About the PORTABLE SPEAKER
This durable portable speaker is made from waste wood, recycled speakers and an old LP. During the designing process, a lot of inspiration was drawn from the design of furniture from the 1950s. By using 8 rechargeable AA batteries, the speaker can play music for at least 16 hours, without having to be charged in the meantime. Thanks to the thick-walled wooden soundbox, the speaker produces a warm and full sound.
The Assignment
During my internship at FabLab Zwolle I was given a lot of freedom. In the time between assignments, I was given the opportunity to use the machines and materials available for my own designs. I made grateful use of this, resulting in, among other things, this portable speaker.
